Inconsistencies

I've been thinking about something for a very long time and I finally brought it up with a few friends at work which then led into a long philosophical conversation at work this afternoon... there was no conclusion come to.

Basically, in Star Wars Episode 4, Obi Wan stops the beginning of a bar fight in the Cantina by cutting off the alien's arm thus leading to a pool of blood on the floor with the severed arm. However, in Episode 5, the epic scene where Darth Vader cuts off Luke's hand, there is no blood after the hand is severed.

Why is there this blatant inconstancy? Thoughts?

Well for one it was a alien that got it's hand cut off. As we all know alien blood is totally different than human blood. When alien blood gets heated (like when the lightsaber cut through the skin) it actually gets more liquid, causing the said pool of blood. When a human gets an appendage cut off with something that heats it at the same time it coagulates(sp). It's true, look it up.
